Nicholas has an announcement to make: He will soon be a big brother . . . to TWIN baby sisters! That's right - we are expecting twin girls in June 2014! The fact that they are twins took us totally by surprise - we had no reason (genetic or otherwise) to suspect such a phenomenon and we were overwhelmed and thrilled all at once. I like to explain the sensation like going bankrupt and winning the lottery at exactly the same time. The doctors think the girls are fraternal twins - each with their own separate amniotic sac and may look alike or not at all. Assuming all goes well, we hope to welcome their arrival somewhere around June 7th, 2014 (at 38 weeks). Nicholas is excited . . . so far. He brags that he will have not one baby sister, but TWO! Although we'll see if his tune changes once they are actually here and sucking up mommy and daddy's attention.
