Baby's First Christmas - 2011

US Air Force Band Holiday Concert

We started off the Holiday Season by watching Daddy in concert with the US Air Force Band. He, and the accordion, were featured in a number of tunes and we got to see him up on the jumbo screen.  Auntie Christina, Cousin Alexander & Cousin Caroline joined us for the show and a we got a back-stage pass to go meet Santa and Mrs. Claus!

Here's Dad  - live in concert!
As soon as he sat down, Nicholas gave a sharp tug on Santa's beard! ha! how did he know?

Little Alexander isn't such a fan of "live" Santa - but Nicholas and Caroline snuggled right in!

Smith-Busso Annual Tree-trimming Party

I'm ready to help decorate the tree!
Or maybe I'll just stand here and smile :)

Just a little poke...let's see what this tree is all about...
hey, it poked me back!

Christmas 2011

For the actual holiday we completed our normal I-95 tour of New York & Connecticut to see the whole family.  Nicholas ended up catching a bad cold that was in full gear by Christmas Day.  Despite his fever, coughs and sniffles, he still tried to smile and enjoy the holiday. And he still managed to eat pretty well during all the family meals! He tried some of Nonnie's meatballs & pasta (loved it!), and Grandma's alfredo sauce (also loved it!)  But by Christmas Day-night, Mom & Dad were worried about the little guy's fever, so we headed to Staten Island Hospital emergency room. Six hours later, we went home with a prescription for baby Motrin and a diagnosis of bronchiolitis. At least they were able to rule out pneumonia and other scarier stuff.  With all that excitement, we still managed to snag a few priceless shots:

Hmm...a present for me?

Oh cool - a rolling elephant, exactly what I wanted!

Ok..next!

"Put that camera down and hand me a present!"

Christmas Day - Staten Island, NY

Poor little guy - look at those rosey cheeks.  Hmm...kind of resembles another (St.) Nick I know...maybe he's Santa Claus!

Thanksgiving 2011

We celebrated Nicholas's first Thanksgiving at our house with the Busso side of the family. And then we flew to CT on Friday to celebrate with the Smith side of the family.  Nicholas tried his first bites of turkey, mashed potatoes, and pumpkin and apple pie! Grandma and Grandpa Busso cooked most of the meal (thank you!) and Auntie Christina & Uncle Marshall brought lots of favorite side dishes. We also contributed a few sides and did the clean-up.

Bath Time Update!

We finally moved Nicholas' little bath tub from the kitchen counter to the big bath.  Now we can fill it up all the way and let him splish splash away! He is quite the little fish!

Halloween Night

We stopped by cousins Alexander & Caroline's house on Halloween night. The boys were sporting their matching bat shirts from Grandma and Grandpa Busso. They looked so cute! Thank you!

Don't worry, family - we caught him in time!

Nicholas & Alexander....going in for a smooch!

Kissing cousin! This is one to show their prom dates!

Del Ray Halloween Parade

We took our little Tootsie Roll for a stroll through the Del Ray Halloween Parade with our friends from the Alexandria New Mom's Group.  It was a beautiful, crisp fall day and the babies were all so well-behaved. I guess having so many crazy costumes to look at kept them all quiet.
