Baby's First Christmas - 2011

US Air Force Band Holiday Concert

We started off the Holiday Season by watching Daddy in concert with the US Air Force Band. He, and the accordion, were featured in a number of tunes and we got to see him up on the jumbo screen.  Auntie Christina, Cousin Alexander & Cousin Caroline joined us for the show and a we got a back-stage pass to go meet Santa and Mrs. Claus!

Here's Dad  - live in concert!
As soon as he sat down, Nicholas gave a sharp tug on Santa's beard! ha! how did he know?

Little Alexander isn't such a fan of "live" Santa - but Nicholas and Caroline snuggled right in!

Smith-Busso Annual Tree-trimming Party

I'm ready to help decorate the tree!
Or maybe I'll just stand here and smile :)

Just a little poke...let's see what this tree is all about...
hey, it poked me back!

Chillin' with "Auntie Cat" and "Auntie Kristen"
Christmas 2011

For the actual holiday we completed our normal I-95 tour of New York & Connecticut to see the whole family.  Nicholas ended up catching a bad cold that was in full gear by Christmas Day.  Despite his fever, coughs and sniffles, he still tried to smile and enjoy the holiday. And he still managed to eat pretty well during all the family meals! He tried some of Nonnie's meatballs & pasta (loved it!), and Grandma's alfredo sauce (also loved it!)  But by Christmas Day-night, Mom & Dad were worried about the little guy's fever, so we headed to Staten Island Hospital emergency room. Six hours later, we went home with a prescription for baby Motrin and a diagnosis of bronchiolitis. At least they were able to rule out pneumonia and other scarier stuff.  With all that excitement, we still managed to snag a few priceless shots:

Christmas Eve - Rockfall, CT
"More peas, please!"
Cousin Natalia - decked out in her Christmas finest
Snuggling with Mommy

Hmm...a present for me?

Oh cool - a rolling elephant, exactly what I wanted!

Ok..next!
Quality time with Nonnie

"Put that camera down and hand me a present!"

Christmas Day - Staten Island, NY

Poor little guy - look at those rosey cheeks.  Hmm...kind of resembles another (St.) Nick I know...maybe he's Santa Claus!
