We packed up our suitcases and our wonderful babysitter, Seaenna, and headed out to Philadelphia to spend the weekend with our good friends Eric and Robyn. Unfortunately, Nicholas sprouted his 2-year-old molars and developed a big sore on his tongue - so he was a little less than delightful, poor little guy. We can only hope that all the crying didn't cause Eric and Robyn rethink their plans to start their own family! Really, Nico is usually very happy and easy going...but when he is sick or in pain, well, he's a typical guy - a big baby :-) We were able to distract him with a trip to Sesame Place (which was a big hit!) and the Philadelphia Please Touch Museum (also amazing). Seaenna really stepped up - even after all the fussiness, she never hesitated to babysit Saturday night, as planned. We were able to hit the city with Eric, Robyn and "Uncle" John and "Uncle" Fred and enjoyed a delicious dinner at a fabulous German restaurant - Brauhaus Schmitz. We were sure we'd have to turn around and head back to tend to a crying Nicholas, but Seaenna worked her magic and sent photos of them SMILING and playing together. I don't know how she did it! He was even tucked into his crib, fast asleep when we got home. We love her!
Here are some photos of the trip!
